Angela Fisher
AM Music Academy is the culmination of a life long passion for music and music education. Angela Fisher started learning piano at age 7, and was ready to begin teaching private piano lessons at age 15. She got her first “real” job teaching piano and voice in a music store at age 18, and three years later she was ready to start a music studio of her own. She’s been teaching ever since, and is now a seasoned teacher with over twenty years of experience teaching private lessons to students of all ages and ability levels.
Angela was homeschooled through high school, received her BA in Vocal Music Education from Lindenwood University in 2010, and rounded off her official education with a Masters in Music Theory from Washington University in Saint Louis. Nowadays her professional development consists of rehearsing with her world-renowned choir, sitting in on rehearsals of some of the best and most efficient musicians in the world, deep reading in music theory, and hours upon hours of working with real musicians in all stages of their musical journey.
Angela’s specialties include sight reading, efficient practice techniques, and using music theory to truly understand the music you’re making and bring it to life. She loves building long relationships with her students that last for many years. She has watched her students go on to build careers in music education, composition, and music performance. She loves helping her students lay the foundation to see their passion for music grow and thrive.
